How much is life worth?

If you're Palestinian, not much. That's the message that the international community is sending out. The death toll from Israel bombardment of Gaza has now reached 350+ in 4 days, and yet leaders in the international community talk about Israel's right to defend itself! Defend itself from what exactly?
Hamas is stupid and irresponsible for sending out those rockets. But for the love of God, these rockets have rarely amount to anything. As of April 2008, 13 Israelis have ever been killed by qassam rockets. That is 13 in 7 years. That doesn't mean that it is acceptable, but Israel has murdered 350 Palestinians in 4 days! This is insane! And the world talks about Israel's right to defend itself. More Israelis will die in car accidents this year.. should Israel be allowed to bomb every car out there, to defend itself.

Israel murders 195 in Gaza

Israeli elections are getting close again, and guess what that means? That's right, Israeli attacks against Palestinians. Israel attacked Palestinians in the Gaza Strip, killing at least 195 people. The excuse? The rockets launched from Gaza. Now, no country in the world would tolerate being attacked by rockets. However, when these "rockets" are really glorified firecrackers, that very rarely injure or kill, responding to them by murdering 195 people is more than just an overreaction.
Why are Israeli leaders doing this? Because they're up for reelection soon. And so in order to prove they are tough, and avoid losing to the right wing, the government decides to bomb Gaza, and kill more Palestinians. Let the campaigning begin.

Ridiculous

Apparenly, arab leaders have given Condi Rice gifts worth over $300,000. What I find more interesting is this "Early in the year, Jordan's King Abdullah II presented Ms Rice with a diamond and emerald set - including a necklace, bracelet, earrings and a ring - worth $147,000 (£100,000), according to the list."
Jordan is a relatively poor country. Why can't the Jordanian King donate the money to more deserving people, such as poor people in Jordan?!

Harakka Puhuu

Harakka is Finnish for magpie, so I thought I should start with the magpie rhyme:

One for sorrow,
Two for joy,
Three for a girl,
Four for a boy,
Five for silver,
Six for gold,
Seven for a secret never to be told.
